PRACTICAL GUIDANCE FOR PURPOSE-DRIVEN FOUNDERS

PAffairs
Business Builder

ISSUE 01SEPTEMBER 2026PLAN · BUILD · GROW

Your vision deserves structure.

Welcome to the first issue of the PAffairs Business Builder. Every great business or nonprofit begins with a vision, but vision alone is not enough. Sustainable organizations are built through clear plans, consistent systems and informed decisions.

My goal is to give you practical information you can use—not someday, but now. In every issue, we will share manageable steps to help you organize your business, strengthen your financial foundation and prepare for new opportunities.

Your vision is personal. Your plan should be too. Let’s build it together.

Five things every fundable business should organize

Funding readiness begins long before an application. Start by making sure these five areas are current and consistent.

  1. Business identity: Confirm your legal name, entity status, EIN, licenses and contact information.
  2. Financial records: Maintain a dedicated business account and organized income and expense records.
  3. Business plan: Clearly explain what you offer, whom you serve and how the business earns revenue.
  4. Use-of-funds budget: Know exactly how much you need and how the funds would support growth.
  5. Professional presence: Keep your website, email address and public business information aligned.
